Privacy

Marshall MQ has no account, no analytics and no telemetry.

What goes over the network

  • Your brokers and Schema Registries, with the credentials you gave them.
  • Updates: Sparkle checks getcortexlabs.com for a new version. The site counts the check by version and day; nothing about you or your brokers is in it.
  • Your AI tool's provider, only when you use Ask your topic, and only what that sheet shows it will send.

Credentials

Broker and registry passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain, never in a file. The list of brokers itself (names, addresses, options) is a JSON file in Marshall's Application Support folder.

Reading

On Kafka, reading never changes the broker: no group joined, no offset committed, no topic created. On RabbitMQ, reading marks messages as redelivered, and Marshall asks before doing it. See RabbitMQ.

Marshall MQ is free for personal and commercial use.
