Install and update

Marshall MQ runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon and Intel (it is a universal app). Kafka support is built in; there is nothing else to install.

Download

Get the DMG from the Marshall MQ page, open it and drag Marshall MQ to Applications.

Or with Homebrew:

sh
brew install --cask getcortexlabs/tap/marshall-mq

The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

First launch

A short introduction in six chapters sets the ground rules, and the third one opens a broker for you. Watch it again from Settings › Replay the introduction.

Updates

Marshall checks for updates with Sparkle and verifies each one's signature before it installs. After an update, What's new shows what changed. Every release is on the release notes page.

Where it keeps things

Saved brokers live in brokers.json in Marshall's Application Support folder. Passwords live in the macOS Keychain, never in a file.

Marshall MQ is free for personal and commercial use.
